Leave the M23 at junction 10A, after Gatwick (J9) and East
Grinstead/Crawley (J10) Take the B2036 in the direction
of Balcombe and Cuckfield.
Drive through Balcombe, 3 miles after the motorway, and
continue straight on to Cuckfield, which is a further 3.5
miles after Balcombe. Do not turn left in Balcombe even
though it is signposted to Haywards Heath.
As you approach Cuckfield you arrive at a mini roundabout,
car sales on your left, pub on your right, and should bear
left into Cuckfield. Continue straight on past another mini
roundabout and just after the Rose & Crown pub, which
is set back from the road on the left hand side, turn left
along London Lane. Continue on this road and at the end
turn left at the T-junction in the direction of Haywards
Heath.
Continue past two large roundabouts, following the signs
to Haywards Heath.
200 yards after the second roundabout turn right along Isaacs
Lane. Ignore the no through road sign.
If you see The Dolphin pub on your left by a mini roundabout
you have gone too far….……
In Isaacs Lane drive past Downlands Nursing Home then almost
immediately on your left there is a track marked Public
Bridleway and Cycle Route. Turn left here and drive along
the concrete strips. Mind the potholes!
Continue to the end, over a sleeping policeman, through
black iron gates and bear left.
St.Stephens Cottage is the second house on the left behind
high wooden gates. Please park outside the right hand garage,
leaving room for the door to open. If you arrive in daylight
I suggest you reverse into the drive. It is then
easier to leave in the morning!
